General Surgery and Urology

Service summary

We provide elective and emergency services for General Surgery (for York), Vascular surgery (for York and Harrogate) and Urology (for York and Harrogate) and work in main theatres, day theatres and outpatients.

There are four subspecialties in General Surgery. These are Vascular Surgery (for more information click here), Breast Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Colorectal Surgery. Urology comprises several special interest areas, including stone disease, female incontinence, uro-oncology, andrology and benign prostatic disease.

The Consultants and secretaries offices are located in the Administration Block/Breast Unit. Our outpatient clinics are based in the ground floor Outpatient Department and our adult patients are on Wards 11, 14 and 16 and on the Extended Stay Day Surgery Ward and our paediatric patients are on Ward 17.
