Enquiring about a patient

We realise what a difficult time it can be when a friend or relative is in hospital. If the patient is on one of our wards, we know that you will want to find out as much information as you can either in person or on the telephone.

Mornings are usually the busiest time on the wards as this is when there is a lot of activity taking place - for example, patients having breakfast, getting washed, beds being changed, visits from the Blood-taking team, physiotherapists, dietitians and doctors. The administration and nursing teams on the ward would very much appreciate it if telephone calls for information on patients could be spread out throughout the day. They do want to make sure that when they talk to relatives and friends, they are able to be as helpful and informative as possible. Also, if you do have a large family or circle of friends, it can be helpful for us if you nominate someone to contact the ward who can then pass information on to rest of the family.

If your friend or relative makes use of the Hospedia facility, then you can contact them directly.
