Laboratory Medicine consists of five departments:
Haematology (Immunology and Blood Transfusion)
Cytology (North Yorkshire Cervical Cytology Screening Service)
Each department is involved in the scientific study of disease. Diagnosis and monitoring form an important part of the work undertaken by the departments. Details of all the services provided by Laboratory Medicine, with specific information on every test performed, are available in the York Laboratory Handbook, which can be downloaded here.
