Our Strategy 2021-2023: Building better care together

The Trust set out its strategy in 2018.  Our common purpose is to provide great care to our communities, to deliver excellent care to our patients and communities, working collaboratively with all our system partners.  Our commitment to this continues, however the context in which we are delivering our services has significantly changed.

This document combines our clinical and organisational priorities for the next two years to manage our transition through the peak of the pandemic to recovery and renewal.  You can read our Building better care together strategy in full here.

Cancer strategy 2020-2025

The Trust is delighted to share our Cancer Services vision for the next five years by introducing our new cancer strategy.

Our cancer strategy describes how we will meet the national priorities for cancer; achieve the expectations of our patients and their families and create integrated services to meet the needs of our communities.

Green Plan 2021-2026

Our 2021-2026 Green Plan has been developed to replace the 2017-2020 Sustainable Development Management Plan, taking account of recent NHS guidance and targets.  Alternatively you can read a summary of the plan.

Achieving the net zero carbon target which relates to the emissions that we directly control (referred to as our NHS Carbon Footprint) through reducing our energy use, our fleet and business travel, our use of anaesthetic gases and with changes to prescribing inhalers, is to be achieved by 2040 with 80% of this delivered by 2032. For emissions that we can influence but can’t directly control, the net zero target is 2045 for our NHS Carbon footprint Plus. The NHS Carbon Footprint Plus includes the embodied carbon emissions from the things we buy such as medicines and medical devices and also the carbon footprint of patient and visitor travel together with the staff commute.

End of Life Care strategy 2022-2025

The Trust’s overall mission is; ‘Start well, live well, age well’ for all that live in our localities. Building on aging well, our end of life strategy aims to ensure we live well until we die. Click here to view and download the strategy.
