All vacancies with our Trust are advertised on the NHS Jobs website. This is a national website, carrying advertisements (around 20,000 monthly) from NHS Trusts across the country.

NHS Jobs

We strongly recommend that anyone interested in our vacancies becomes a registered user of NHS Jobs. To do so, all you will need is an email address that you can access regularly.

As a registered user of NHS Jobs, you can opt to receive email alerts for vacancies of interest ('My jobs by email') by configuring some simple search strings. You will receive an email when a vacancy matching your criteria goes "live". Once registered, you will also be able to complete application forms online, which makes the process for applying very accessible.

A guide with more detailed information to assist people who are unfamiliar with NHS Jobs can be downloaded here. Please note that this document is provided in PDF format.

Our Vacancies

We advertise an average of 92 vacancies per month (based on figures 1 April 2012 - 31 March 2013).

These vacancies span a wide variety of roles: ranging from Domestic Assistants, Porters and Craftspeople to Staff Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Laboratory Technicians, to Senior Managers, Records Clerks and Administrative Officers in our Hospitals. We also recruit to vacancies in community services, including for nursing, therapist and administrative roles.

We have full-time (37.5 hour working week) and part-time (various hours) vacancies. Additionally, people are welcome to apply for a position with a preference for flexible working or job sharing - it may be possible to accommodate these preferences depending on the flexibility of the service.

Vacancy advertisements will normally close to new applications at midnight two weeks on the Sunday following the advertising date. For popular vacancies, we operate a variable deadline, where a vacancy will close to new applications when a sufficient number has been received. In such instances, applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

With our timescales and natural turnover, the types of jobs that are available can change very quickly. Accordingly, if the position that you really want is not being advertised at a particular point in time, we would strongly recommend that you continually check NHS Jobs, or sign-up to receive jobs by email via NHS Jobs.

While we do a lot of recruitment, the common theme that runs through all of our selection decisions is an assessment of whether candidates share our values.
