Chaplaincy

The Full-Time Chaplain (Church of England) for Scarborough and Bridlington Hospitals is The Revd Martin Doe, who is supported by a team of chaplaincy volunteers.

The Chapel

The Chapel, Chaplains’ Office and Quiet Room are situated on the ground floor of the hospital near Johnson Ward.  Opening hours for the chapel are between 7.30am and 6pm.

The chapel is locked overnight for security reasons.  However, access to the chapel is possible outside opening hours via the porters who can be contacted through the main switchboard (01723) 368111.

A weekday chapel service takes place on Thursdays at 11.30am.

Patients are welcome to receive Holy Communion on the ward on Sunday, or at other times.

Referrals

We always welcome referrals of anyone who would appreciate support during their time in hospital. To refer someone to the chaplaincy department, telephone the main office or if your call is urgent, contact the main switchboard on (01723) 368111, they will contact the appropriate person.

Contact

If you would like to contact the Chaplain, please speak to a member of nursing staff. You can also contact the Chaplaincy Office via the hospital switchboard (01723) 368111 where an answer phone is available.
