Cancer information service

Our Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service offers people in the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale areas who are affected by cancer access to good quality, comprehensive and appropriate information and support.

This includes people who:

  • require information about cancer

  • have a cancer diagnosis

  • have survived cancer

  • are looking to reduce the risks of cancer

  • are a carer or relative of someone with cancer

  • are healthcare professionals.

We offer

  • support from specialist staff

  • a range of information leaflets and booklets tailored to individual needs

  • financial advice and information on benefits

  • information about local services and organisations

We also signpost people to self-help and support groups, and liaise with other voluntary and statutory agencies. Some of our resources are available in different languages and are suitable for people with special needs.

The service is staffed by a Macmillan information specialist, supported by trained volunteers and has been developed by Macmillan Cancer Support and NHS North Yorkshire and York.

You can contact us on 01723 342606.
