The Equality Delivery System (EDS) is a product of the Department of Health Equality and Diversity Council designed to support the NHS to deliver better outcomes for patients and communities and better working environments for staff, which are personal, fair and Diverse.
The EDS is about making positive differences to healthy living and working lives so that everyone counts. York Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Board of Directors viewed this presentation and agreed to adopt the EDS at it's meeting in November 2011.
At the heart of the EDS is a set of 18 outcomes grouped into four goals. These outcomes focus on the issues of most concern to patients, carers, communities, NHS staff and Boards. It is against these outcomes that our performance is graded and action determined.
