The New Selby War Memorial Hospital

The New Selby War Memorial Hospital is a Community Hospital which provides Inpatient and Outpatient care for Selby and District Locality.

Services from the site are mainly provided by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust but also some by Harrogate & District NHS Foundation Trust and Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital is located on Doncaster Road approximately 1 mile south of the town centre on the A19.

Parking

There are 100 spaces for visitors, shared with the Civic Centre, which includes 15 disabled (blue badge holder) parking spaces.

Parking is free of charge.

There is a drop off zone directly outside the hospital main entrance.

Covered cycle parking is provided close to the hospital and Civic Centre main entrances.

Visiting times

Visiting times for the Inpatient Unit are 2.00pm - 8.00pm daily.

Visiting outside of these times should be discussed with the Inpatient Senior Nurse on duty.

Travel

Arriva Bus routes 405, 407, X45 Selby - Doncaster drop off /pick up outside the hospital on Doncaster Road.
Buses timetables and taxi information are displayed in the hospital main entrance lobby.
A public payphone is located in the main entrance lobby.

Shops and restaurants

The hospital has a cafe which serves a selection of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. The café is open to the public.

We regret we cannot accept payment by debit/credit card.

Food and drink vending machines are located in the ground floor main waiting area.

Cash machine

Please note cash machine facilities are not available on site. The nearest cash machine is at 'One Stop shop' 10 minutes walk away towards Selby town centre (left turn leaving the hospital driveway). Or alternatively a 2 minute drive to Tesco Express Store on Doncaster Road (right turn leaving the hospital driveway)

Post

Stamped addressed mail may be left at the ground floor reception desk for collection by Royal Mail (Mon to Fri only).

Pharmacy

The nearest is 5 minutes walk away on the Beech Tree Doctors' Surgery site on Doncaster Road (right turn out of the hospital driveway).
