The York Round Table has donated £2710 to York Hospital's 'Lots of Cots Appeal' to enable another two new cots to be purchased.
David Posliff, York and County 65 Round Table said that "Myself and my fellow Table members are delighted to present funds to such a worthy cause. We work on various exciting fundraising activities during the year to include running our own York Beer Festival and also on ticket sales for the York Christmas Pantomime dress rehearsal performance each year. It is a pleasure for charitable funds to go towards such a worthy cause which will benefit the next generation to hopefully include potential future York Round Table Members! As well as donating money to worthy local causes, we hold regular table meetings undertaking interesting activities and generally have fun in the process. We always welcome new members and more information on our organisation can be found on our Round Table website www.rt65.com"
Lucy Watson, Fundraising Manager at the York Teaching Hospital Charity said, "We are so grateful to the York Round Table for funding two more cots for the Maternity unit. We have received fantastic support for the appeal and we have now funded 32 cots with 4 more to replace and we thank anyone who may like to support this appeal."
"We are giving people/places the opportunity to sponsor an individual cot costing £1355. We would ensure a plaque was displayed on the cot with their details to promote their generosity."
