Membership

Members can participate in the local ownership and accountability of the NHS Foundation Trust and support, contribute and influence its development and be consulted on future plans and service developments.

What does being a member involve?

Becoming a member of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust gives you the opportunity to become more involved in your hospital. You can be involved in a number of different ways to suit your level of interest. For instance, you might be interested in simply expressing your support for the hospital by becoming a member and receiving a quarterly newsletter, whilst other members may wish to be more involved by taking part in surveys or perhaps attending presentations on clinical services at the Hospital. You make the decision on just how much, or how little, you want to be involved.

As a member you will be eligible to vote for Governors, so you can vote for a representative in your constituency, which can give you a line of communication for any issues you may wish to raise - direct to the Council of Governors. We are required to hold a public register of current members (name only) and their constituency, this information can only be viewed by appointment, by contacting the Chairman and Chief Executive's Office.
