Service Summary

The Emergency Department at York Hospital provides specialist services for acutely ill and injured patients. There are 9 Emergency Department consultants working in the department.

In 2009/10 the Emergency Department saw 71,500 attendances.

Emergency Departments provide immediate emergency care for people who show the symptoms of serious illness or who are badly injured. The Emergency Department is situated on the ground floor of York Hospital, adjacent to the Intensive Care Unit. It has its own entrance and reception area. Click here for a hospital map.
