About us

Junior Doctors Safety Improvement Group

We as junior doctors (FY1 to Registrar) have a valuable role to play in patient safety and quality improvement. We aim to support and enthuse you to get involved with and initiate projects as well as join Trust working groups to provide junior doctor perspectives.

As junior doctors we need the support and supervision of our senior medical and allied health professional colleagues – we not only have the support and attendance of James Taylor (Medical Director), but we invite staff from a range of departments (e.g. pharmacy, risk and legal, nursing, IT) so that we can collaborate to investigate issues and develop strategies for quality improvement.

We meet once a month in the Board Room at York Hospital with video link to the Orchard Room at Scarborough Hospital.

We look forward to seeing and working with you,
