“I manage community midwifery and antenatal day services right across the Trust. I have worked here for almost three years and absolutely love my role. It gives me the opportunity to support staff to make a real difference to the provision of high quality maternity care for women and their families.
“After qualifying in Leeds in 1999, I took up my first midwifery post and progressed into specialised work with pregnant teenagers. From there, I moved to develop services for young women across Wakefield and began my Masters in Advancing Midwifery Practice. I continued my work with vulnerable women before starting here and completing my Masters, graduating in November last year.
“I have been fortunate enough to be involved with a variety of projects, including the development of services for women with mental health issues. It makes me very proud to be part of a maternity team committed to listening to women and what they need to ensure a positive pregnancy and parenting journey.
“I am passionate about midwifery and believe wholeheartedly in the value and excellence displayed on a daily basis across the whole of the NHS. I come from a nursing background and feel it was very much my vocation to work within an organisation that cares about making a positive difference.”
