Hospital Trust and Healthwatch to host joint public meeting
York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire, is hosting a public meeting to give people in the Bridlington area the opportunity to find out more about the Trust’s plans for health services on the East Coast.
The meeting will be chaired by Richard Davies OBE, Chair of Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire.
At the meeting Patrick Crowley, Chief Executive of York Trust, Mike Proctor, Deputy Chief Executive, and Peter Bowker, Deputy Director of Operations and Bridlington Hospital Manager, will provide an update on ongoing and planned developments to services, and will answer questions from the public.
Patrick Crowley said: "There is a significant level of local interest and support for Bridlington Hospital, and we want to take every opportunity to explain our plans and discuss any concerns. We made a commitment when we took on Scarborough Trust that we would invest in services on the East Coast and make sure that Bridlington Hospital is used to its full potential. We are now 18 months on from the merger and many of our plans are taking shape, but we also recognise that there may be some uncertainty, and a public meeting is the ideal forum to address these issues."
Richard Davies said: "A key part of our role as the consumer champion for health and social care services in the East Riding is to make sure people’s voices are heard, and we welcome the chance to work with the Trust to provide opportunities for people to find out more about their local services and share their views and concerns."
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 29 April 2014 at 6.30pm in the Harbour Suite at Bridlington Spa, South Marine Drive, Bridlington, YO15 3JH.
All are welcome to attend, and there is no need to book a place.
Refreshments will be available from 6.00pm.
