Winners to be revealed at Celebration of Achievement Awards
On Thursday night, York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will reveal the winners of this year’s Celebration of Achievement awards at a glittering awards ceremony at York Racecourse – the aim of which is to honour NHS staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
The Celebration of Achievement Awards are the Trust’s annual staff reward and recognition awards. From an entire ward at Scarborough Hospital, who developed an ‘end of life palliative care box’, to a group of staff at York Hospital who worked together to provide exceptional care to meet the individual needs of a patient suffering from a phobia – this year’s finalists include exceptional stories from across the Trust.
Teena Wiseman, Staff Benefits Manager, said: “This year we received 183 nominations. The quality of the entries was extremely high and each nomination was deserving of an award. Although a difficult job, the judging panels did manage to pick three finalists for each category and we are excited to meet them at the award ceremony.”
Patrick Crowley, Chief Executive, said: “I continue to take great pride in our organisation; you only have to walk around any one of our hospitals or in our communities to see the true dedication of our staff shining through.
“The Celebration of Achievement Awards have become a valuable and highly regarded way of honouring colleagues who have excelled in their achievements and service for the Trust and to the patients, families and clients we serve.
“This year we have had another fantastic response from members of the public for the Patient Award with 37 nominations, which speaks volumes itself.
“I would like to thank staff and patients for taking the time to submit nominations and look forward to recognising the work of our staff at the Awards Ceremony on Thursday night.”
