Looking for a new job? Save the date for our Recruitment Marketplace Event
On Saturday 23 April, we are holding a recruitment marketplace event at York Hospital. As well as finding out about the different nursing opportunities available, the event will include information about vacancies across a range of professions.
This is the first time that we've held a Trust-wide recruitment event which follows on from successful open day events to recruit certain professions from HCAs to paediatric consultants.
On the day, people will be able to find out more about the vacancies that the we are looking to fill across a variety of different departments - from nursing vacancies to jobs in estates and facilities.
Nichola Greenwood, Nursing Workforce Projects Manager, explained: “On the day, we will be recruiting to nursing vacancies in all of our clinical services including Elderly Medicine, Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Specialist Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Theatres, Post Anaesthetic Recovery, Endoscopy, ICU, Renal Medicine, Paediatrics, Out of Hospital Care, Community Hospitals and our pre-assessment team.
“We are looking for both experienced and newly qualified nurses who share our organisational values to join our team to help us deliver exceptional care to our patients.”
“Interested candidates will be able to speak to staff and take tours of departments and on-the-day interviews will also take place for nursing staff – so people could come away from the event with a new job!”
Last year we recruited more student nurses than any other Trust in the region and over the past few months we have interviewed and made offers to over 80 student nurses from across the UK who will start at the end of the summer.
Two Healthcare Assistant information events will also take place on the day. These have proved extremely popular and are already booked up, however people can still register their interest for future HCA open days as well as finding out about a similar entry level role as an imaging support worker.
Information will also be available about apprenticeship positions and the staff benefits you are entitled to as an employee of the Trust. You will also be able to sign up to become a Member of the Trust.
Will Thornton, Recruitment Manager, at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are excited to be holding our first Trust-wide recruitment marketplace event. Initial feedback has been great with nearly 500 confirming their interest on our Facebook page.
“There are 300 different job roles in the NHS and this event will give people the opportunity to find out about our range of nursing vacancies as well as other job opportunities.
“We are opening up many of our departments on the day, so that interested people can take tours of the areas where they may be interested in working, and to speak to staff who already work in that department.
“We look forward to welcoming people on the day. For more information contact recruitmentfair@york.nhs.uk or join our Facebook event here.
