Last call for public to nominate dedicated NHS staff for Patient Award
York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is appealing to the public to nominate staff who they feel deserve special recognition at their annual Celebration of Achievement awards.
There are only a few days to go before the closing date of 29 April so the Trust is urging people to get online or give them a call to nominate for The Patient Award so they can say a public thank you to outstanding staff. The award will be presented to an individual or team who has shown an exceptionally caring, supportive and compassionate service to patients, their families and friends at a ceremony at York Racecourse on 17 July.
Patrick Crowley, Chief Executive, said: "I continue to take great pride in our organisation; you only have to walk around any one of our hospitals or in our communities to see the true dedication of our staff shining through.
"The Celebration of Achievement Awards have become a valuable and highly regarded way of honouring colleagues who have excelled in their achievements and service for the Trust and to the patients, families and clients we serve.
"This year we hope to have another fantastic response from members of the public for the Patient Award which accounted for 25 percent of the total nominations last year."
Last year's Patient Award was presented to John Bunyan a senior physiotherapist at York Hospital.
John's nomination read: "My husband suffers with dementia and finds it difficult to follow instructions at times, John has been constant in his professional caring and encouraging attitude and his kindness has extended to me and my family."
Nomination forms can found in hospital receptions or can be downloaded from the Trust website from the 'Contact Us' page and submitted by post, email or in person.
