Malton Hospital opens doors to public for open day
Malton Hospital will be throwing open its doors to the public this month for its first ever open day. The much anticipated event will give visitors a unique opportunity to learn more about their local hospital while gaining a deeper understanding of the work which goes on ‘behind the scenes’.
The event will take place on Thursday 18 July in the Outpatient waiting area of the hospital from 12.00pm until 2pm. There will be an opportunity to browse a variety of stalls and gather information on the wealth of services offered by the hospital and the wider Trust.
Visitors will have the chance to see what makes the hospital tick and learn more about their local health services since becoming part of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This is just one of a number of ‘Open Health’ events set to take place across the region during 2013. The aim being to enable people to find out more about, and engage with, their local Trust.
Head of Adult Community Services, Wendy Scott said: ‘‘We would really like to give people the chance to learn more about what we do at Malton Hospital. It is also an opportunity for the public to see inside their local hospital and learn more about the services available.’’
Selby Hospital hosted their open day earlier this year, which was hailed as a great success.
York Hospital will be hosting an Open Departments day on Wednesday 17 July, giving visitors the chance to explore various areas of the hospital and meet departmental staff.
