Meet your Foundation Trust Governor
A number of events have been arranged across the region for members of the public to meet their local NHS Foundation Trust Governor.
On Thursday 14 January, Governors from York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will host an informal drop in session in each of the Trust’s constituency areas, to give members of the public the chance to meet their local governor and other members from their area.
The events will also give members of the public the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about their local hospital and the services it provides.
The sessions are open to all Foundation Trust members, and there is no need to book. Anyone who is interested in becoming a Foundation Trust member is also invited to attend.
Becoming a member of York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust gives you the opportunity to keep updated with your hospital and you can be involved in a number of different ways to suit your level of interest. For more information visit the Membership section of our website.

Council of Governors
As a NHS Foundation Trust, we have a Council of Governors who represent the views of the Foundation Trust membership and hold the Trust Board to account.
The Council of Governors consists of public governors, patient governors and staff governors who have all been elected by their constituencies from the membership of the Foundation Trust. It also includes nominated representatives from the Local Authority, University and other partnership organisations.
The Council of Governors meets four times a year in public and is chaired by the Chairman of the Trust, Sue Symington.
