New blood taking service for Selby

Anyone needing a blood test is set to benefit from a new drop-in blood taking service being launched at the New Selby War Memorial Hospital. The service will be available from the outpatients department from Monday 4 November.

The service replaces an appointment clinic which sometimes had waiting times of over a week making it difficult for those needing urgent tests. Patients can now just take a ticket and wait their turn, however, staff advise that those wishing to avoid waiting times should attend the quieter afternoon session.

Opening times are Mondays to Thursdays 8.30am until 4pm and Fridays 8.30 until 12 noon.

A drop-in blood taking service is also available at York Hospital and ASDA Monks Cross.
