Partnership working for condom distribution
YorSexualHealth is working in partnership with North Yorkshire business LTC Healthcare, to supply condoms to York and North Yorkshire residents through a new Condom distribution scheme.
The scheme will help to reduce STIs and unplanned teenage pregnancies through the distribution of free condoms!
LTC Healthcare is one of the largest suppliers of condoms in the UK to the NHS, Voluntary Sector Organisations and Large Retail Outlets. It produces approximately 40 million condoms every year and was the first company to produce glow in the dark and lollipop condoms.
As well as managing the scheme, YorSexualHealth will also run the training for staff working for services signed up to it and all ordering will be done through a new online service which has just gone live.
Tina Ramsey, Clinical Services Manager, at YorSexualHealth, continued: “We are pleased to be working in partnership with LTC to increase greater access to free condoms across York and North Yorkshire. The scheme will target young people and those most at risk of sexual ill-health.
“The next part of this scheme is the development of a “C-card” scheme which will enable service users to register with the scheme and then pick up condoms from a range of venues, such as GP surgeries, colleges and youth services.”

To mark Halloween, the clocks going back and to celebrate its new partnership with LTC Healthcare, next week you can pick up a free glow in the dark condom from YorSexualHealth. They will be available throughout the week from the smaller clinics and on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October from the YorSexualHealth centres.
