Pinktastic prize for local breast unit

Staff in the Breast Imaging Unit at York Hospital's Magnolia Centre were delighted to find they were the new owners of a specially made pink Staxi Transport Chair- the only one in the country.
The special user-friendly chair was won in a competition held by the UK based company Staxi, who supply all over the world. It was offered in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Debbie Brian, imaging unit manager said: "It's pinktastic! The Staxi transport chair will be a great addition to our department and will really help with patient care. We have patients coming from all over North Yorkshire and we have no dedicated wheelchair of our own to transport people from room to room. The best thing is everyone will know it's ours!"
Staxi wheelchairs are supplied to hospitals and airports throughout the UK and worldwide and are best known for their strong design and being safest to use.
David Gallant, Staxi's business manager said: "It's been a real pleasure to present the Staxi directly to the people who will be using it and to see how much it means to them. I'm delighted for York Hospital and hope they will use it for many years to come."
