Trust celebrates breastfeeding during awareness week

This year National Breastfeeding Celebration Week will run from Saturday 18 to Monday 27 June and York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will be providing an opportunity for mothers, breastfeeding supporters and health professionals to celebrate and support women to breastfeed in our local community.

Supporters are invited to a celebration event with refreshments in the main entrance of York Hospital on Monday 20 June between 12-2pm and in the main entrance of Scarborough Hospital on Tuesday 21 June between 12-2pm.

People in our local community are welcome to come together to find out about the support available to them, to share their experiences of what works well and to support a friendly breastfeeding culture.

A celebration tree will also be on display. People can share their support and advice for other breastfeeding mothers by writing on a milk drop to be hung on the tree.

You can also get involved on social media using #celebratebreastfeeding.
