Staff scoop £2k holiday prize in staff lottery

Two lucky members of Staff from York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundations Trust have scooped £2,000 in holiday vouchers in January’s Staff Lottery draw.

The winners, who can spend the vouchers on a holiday of their choice, were presented with their prizes at Quartz Travel in York on Thursday 30 January.

The lucky recipients were Sian Sayer, Staff Nurse on ICU, and Physiotherapist Debbie Plowman who works in Gynaecology at York Hospital.

Teena Wiseman, Staff Benefits Manager at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “With more staff joining the lottery scheme than ever before we have increased the value of prizes for 2014.

“The Staff Lottery scheme is one of a number of staff benefits and well being schemes open to Trust staff. All employees are invited to participate in the monthly lottery which costs just £2 per number.

“Each month we give away £3,125 in cash prizes alongside other monthly prizes, which includes a car in June!

“Up to 50 percent of the income from the lottery is paid out in prizes whilst the other 50 percent goes towards schemes to enhance the work/life balance of our staff including reflexology, podiatry and gym memberships.”
