Health and Wellbeing

Health and Wellbeing is designed to help people affected by cancer and their family and friends get the support they need during and after cancer treatment. It is designed to support self-management.

A patient Living With and Beyond Cancer can receive health and wellbeing information in a variety of ways such as; discussions with your Key Worker, information booklets, sign posting to local services, events and support groups. For more information you can visit our Cancer Care Centre in York Hospital or the Cancer Information Service Scarborough.

Health and Wellbeing can provide information and support on:

  • Benefits and other financial support
  • Diet and lifestyle
  • Long-term side-effects of treatment
  • Specific cancers
  • Local services

Coronavirus - useful information

The latest health information about Coronavirus can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus.  Information about our local services can be found on this website here.

From Monday 15 June 2020, visitors and outpatients coming into our hospitals will be asked to wear a face covering at all times, to help us reduce the spread of Covid-19.  A face covering can be as simple as a scarf or bandana that ties behind the head.  It should cover your mouth and nose while allowing you to breathe comfortably.  For more information click here.
