A typical working day of mine involved a 07.00 am start. Check staffing levels are okay. Display the daily menus; check the tills; ensure that there is a high standard of food quality and presentation; monitor stock levels and displays; make sure the dining room is clean and well-presented; and run the service in line with the needs of wards and departments.
The best part about my job is good teamwork/happy staff that enjoy their jobs/ being able to provide them with effective management support.
