Support Staff Learning and Development Funding

What is it?

Support staff funding is money that the Trust receives from Health Education Yorkshire & Humber to spend on developing the work-based skills of support staff.

Am I eligible?

Funding is available to ‘support staff’ - those in roles that support health care delivery:

  • Admin & Clerical
  • Catering
  • Health Care Assistants
  • Junior Management
  • Porters

Please note: to be eligible for funding you must be in a Band 1 to 4 role.

What’s on offer?

There are a number of learning opportunities available and accessible in a variety of formats:

  • Vocational
  • Distance Learning
  • Course attendance

Examples of courses that would qualify for funding are as follows:

  • Team Leading Award
  • Business Administration
  • Customer Service
  • Foundation Degrees

This list is not exhaustive and we would be happy to look into any other workplace development courses you feel would help you in your role.

Coronavirus - useful information

The latest health information about Coronavirus can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus.  Information about our local services can be found on this website here.

From Monday 15 June 2020, visitors and outpatients coming into our hospitals will be asked to wear a face covering at all times, to help us reduce the spread of Covid-19.  A face covering can be as simple as a scarf or bandana that ties behind the head.  It should cover your mouth and nose while allowing you to breathe comfortably.  For more information click here.
