Work with us

COVID19 - Your NHS needs you!

Are you, or have you ever been, registered with a professional body such as the NMC, GMC, HCPC, or have you worked in an unregistered profession but have experience of providing direct care to patients?  If so, please read on.

We are looking for people to join our amazing team at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation during these unprecedented times and have a number of ways to bring you into our Trust.

Honorary Contract (unpaid)

If you are still being paid by your current employer but are willing to offer your time and support to the NHS while you are not able to carry out your usual role we can issue you with an Honorary (unpaid) Contract to support us so that your employment is not affected.

Bank contract

If it is a paid bank contract you are looking for then look no further.  Some of the benefits of having a bank contract with us are the choice of  weekly or monthly pay, 12.07% paid annual leave premium, unsocial hours pay, pay increments, entry to NHS pension scheme and access to certain Trust benefits and discounts.

If you wish to proceed with either a bank or honorary contract please use the relevant links below and submit your personal details form. Within the form is the opportunity to let us know which hospital site you would like to work at, i.e. either York or Scarborough.  If we ae able to proceed with your application we will be in touch with you so we can start undertaking your pre-employment checks.

National Bring Back Staff Campaign

If you have already applied to the national ‘Bring Back Staff’ campaign and expressed an interest in working for our Trust you do not need to take any further action as we will be sent your details via a central team in due course.

NHS Volunteer Responders / GoodSAM

For those individuals with no care experience who are looking to provide more general support in the wider community, there is a national campaign called 'GoodSAM' where your support would be most appreciated.
