Podiatry

Staff Podiatry Service

Podiatrists are health care professionals who are qualified to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They also  prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections.

Staff Benefits has arranged with two podiatrists to offer a subsidised service to staff. The new service is more flexible than the previous one offered and each treatment is subsidised by £9 from the Staff Lottery Fund which means staff will only pay £15 for their treatment with York Foot Clinic and £17 at Sole Care in Scarborough.

You need to ensure when booking that you say you are booking for a NHS subsidised treatment and take your valid Trust ID on the day.Treatment will not be provided without your valid ID badge. You will pay for the treatment on the day.

While contagious viruses are active year-round, winter is a prime time for norovirus, colds, influenza (flu), and other respiratory illnesses.

These infections are highly contagious, so we urge people to stay away unless their visit is absolutely essential to help reduce the spread of infection within our hospitals.

Hospitals are full of sick people, many of them frail and elderly, so bringing germs into a hospital is the worst thing you can do.  We have an active programme of infection prevention but we can’t spot visitors who really shouldn’t be here.  Please stay at home if you’re unwell to help aid the wellbeing and recovery of our patients.
