Chaplaincy

The chaplaincy team supports patients, staff and visitors across the Trust and is available for everyone, whether religious or not.

Our aim is to provide spiritual and pastoral care for patients, staff and visitors which is sensitive and appropriate to their spiritual, emotional and cultural needs. This is so people can begin to find strength, support and meaning within their experience of life, death, illness or injury - whatever their beliefs may be.

You do not have to be 'religious' to talk to a chaplain. We are committed to care for each individual and to respect all people regardless of race, religion, creed, gender or culture.

We believe that:

  • Spiritual well-being and pastoral care are essential elements in promoting heath and healing.
  • Respect and sensitivity should be shown to people's spiritual, religious and cultural needs.
  • People's privacy, dignity and confidentiality should be respected and maintained at all times.
  • As a team we aim to have a high visibility around the hospital. Do stop us if you see one of the team around and we will help in any way we can.
