Get Tested During HIV Awareness Week 24 November 2014
Monday marked the start of HIV Testing Week, a European-wide awareness week, which aims to encourage people to ‘Talk HIV Test HIV.’ During the awareness week, many extra opportunities to test for HIV are being made available across York and North Yorkshire.

Snowdrop Appeal hits the target 19 November 2014
Just 17 months ago York Teaching Hospital Charity launched The Snowdrop Appeal which aimed to raise £120,000 to create a maternity bereavement suite at Scarborough Hospital. The target was reached last weekend after fundraiser Kim Harnett organised a fun day at Cayton which raised over £1200. The event was held in memory of her daughter Grace on what would have been her eighth birthday.
Lord Mayor takes tea at York Hospital 10 November 2014
The Lord Mayor enjoyed tea and cakes at a recent visit to York Hospital where he attended a coffee morning arranged by the hospital’s fundraising team to support the Lord Mayor's charity. The team raised over £200 towards the fund which will be shared between York Teaching Hospital Charity (YTHC) and York Against Cancer. Funds raised from the Lord Mayor’s charity will go towards purchasing a machine to enable renal patients to manage their own dialysis treatment in a self-care unit and a new minibus for cancer patients who need to travel to Leeds for their treatment.
