Vicki was nominated for going above and beyond to assist an extremely anxious patient and another member of staff. The patient had travelled over three hours, on multiple buses, from York to Selby for a fast-track CT scan, but arrived late and accidentally went to the wrong department, missing their scan.

Vicki’s nominator contacted her to see if there was a way to help, “Despite the patient initially being told she wouldn't be scanned, I called Vicki for help. She reassured the patient and arranged with the team to have her scanned that morning.

“The patient, who is on a fast track for suspected cancer, was very grateful. Vicki's actions ensured the patient's pathway continued smoothly.”
