The team on Ash Ward at Scarborough Hospital have received a Star Award for the exceptional care they provided to a patient with very complex palliative care needs.

The team showed outstanding professionalism, compassion and teamwork, while managing an unusual and demanding clinical situation - including the use of four syringe drivers at the same time. Throughout, they ensured the patient’s comfort, dignity, and wishes were always the priority.

Working closely with the Specialist Palliative Care Team, the ward team delivered expert clinical care alongside calm, compassionate support for the patient and their family during an incredibly difficult time.
