The most important night of the year, where we showcase the achievements of our 10,000 professional, innovative, caring and dedicated staff, is back!

Every year, we reward and recognise teams, individuals, and volunteers for their excellent work and for going the extra mile. You can get involved by making a nomination below.

To give your nominee their best chance of winning, read our guide on writing a fantastic nomination: Guidelines and tips for writing quality award nominations

Remind yourself of last year's finalists by reading the event programme from last year's Celebration of Achievement: Celebration of Achievement 2024 programme

A separate nomination is required for each category you wish to nominate against.

The criteria for each category are:

Living our Values

We hear great stories every day about how staff across the Trust are making a positive difference in the lives of others. It’s not just what they do, but how they do it - by truly living and breathing our Trust values of kindness, openness and excellence in their everyday behaviours.

This award recognises an individual, team or volunteer who makes a difference day in, day out - often behind the scenes - by putting their heart and soul into their work. Their actions speak louder than words, having a tangible impact on those around them.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Consistent demonstration of the Trust’s values of kindness, openness and excellence, as well as behaviours outlined in our Behavioural Framework
  • An individual, team, or volunteer who makes a meaningful difference through dedication and heartfelt effort, often behind the scenes
  • Evidence of a real and tangible positive impact on patients, colleagues, or the wider community

Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion

Embracing and understanding our differences is at the heart of making our Trust an inclusive place to work and receive care.

This award recognises an individual or team who has shown outstanding commitment to championing equality, diversity and inclusion for patients and/or colleagues - helping to create a safe, supportive culture where everyone can feel valued and have a positive experience.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Examples of how the nominee has shared knowledge and applied equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) principles in the workplace
  • Evidence of initiating, leading, or supporting a service improvement related to EDI
  • Clear impact demonstrating the positive difference these EDI changes have made

Excellence in Collaboration

The Trust cannot deliver services in isolation - we’re committed to working in partnership to enhance the care and services we provide.

This award recognises an individual or team who has helped improve outcomes for patients by building strong partnerships and working collaboratively to make services better.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Evidence of work developed through collaboration across different areas of the Trust and/or in partnership across organisational boundaries to improve patient services and care
  • Clear shared values, aims, and a unified approach to achieving success
  • A partnership that has actively listened to stakeholders to drive improvement

Quality Improvement

Continuously improving the services we provide to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare is at the heart of everything we do.

This award recognises an individual or team who has developed or delivered an innovation, service or quality improvement project, making changes to how they work to improve safety, access to services, or the quality of personalised care or treatment.

It doesn’t have to be ground-breaking or world-changing - just clearly, measurably better than what came before.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Evidence of an innovation, service or quality improvement project that has been developed or delivered by the individual or team.
  • Clear, measurable (quantitative and qualitative) improvements in safety, access to services, or the quality of personalised care or treatment.
  • Demonstration that the changes made have led to outcomes that are noticeably better than previous practice, regardless of scale.

Leader of the Year

This award isn’t just for those in management - anyone, at any level, can be a leader and make a real difference to the way we deliver services.

It recognises a compassionate role model - someone who inspires, motivates and supports those around them, helping to create an exceptional place to work.

Their positive impact comes not just from what they do, but how they do it – through their leadership style, encouragement, and commitment to helping others be the very best they can be.

Judges will be looking for:

  • Demonstration of compassionate leadership that inspires, motivates, and supports colleagues at all levels.
  • A positive impact on the workplace culture, helping to create an exceptional environment for staff and service delivery.
  • Leadership through actions and behaviours, regardless of role, that encourage and empower others to reach their full potential.

Team of the Year (clinical)

This clinical team consistently demonstrates exceptional teamwork to deliver outstanding patient care.

This award celebrates the team that has made the most significant contribution over the past year, enhancing the Trust’s reputation through their inspirational effort and commitment. They truly embody our values and behaviours, working together for the benefit of their patients.

Judges will be looking for:

  • A shared sense of purpose and a collaborative approach to success, underpinned by behaviours that reflect the Trust values of kindness, openness and excellence.
  • Clear examples of how individual strengths are recognised and brought together to achieve common goals.
  • Evidence of how the team has worked together to overcome boundaries or challenges to deliver better outcomes for patients or services.

Team of the Year (non-clinical)

Our support teams are vital to the smooth running of our services.

This award is for the non-clinical project team, corporate team, or support services team that has made the most outstanding contribution over the past year, enhancing the Trust’s reputation through exceptional teamwork in support of clinical services.

They communicate and engage effectively with colleagues across the Trust and have excelled through inspirational effort, truly reflecting our values and behaviours.
