For all information regarding taking swabs and for instructions for the testing for Covid-19 please access this information from the Covid-19 section of the staff intranet.
Please note: The department has a number of different platforms used in the diagnosis of CoVID-19 RNA. It is important to interpret the results in the right context, as those from asymptomatic or immunocompromised patients might be unreliable, and additional advice should be sought from the clinical team in these circumstances.
The Department is currently undergoing UKAS accreditation for this aspect of the service
