|Brown clotted serum, gel barrier or lithium heparin
|Investigation of suspected vitamin A deficiency, especially in cases of fat malabsorption. It may also be used in cases of suspected toxicity as excessive intake of vitamin A can be hepatotoxic.
|Serum or plasma
|Sample must be sent to the laboratory ASAP after collection. Samples received after 4 hours from collection are not suitable for analysis. Sample should be protected from prolonged light exposure.
