Outpatient clinics

On your first appointment with the IBD team, you will be seen by one of the consultants or by the IBD nurses in one of their clinics. This may be a face-to-face appointment or via the telephone.

If you have a face-to-face appointment, you must always check in at the main outpatient desk so you can be directed to the appropriate waiting area. When you check in, staff at the desk will alert the clinician that you have arrived for your appointment.

If you have a telephone appointment, you will be given a time for the appointment. On some occasions, you may be phoned up to 30 minutes earlier or later than your agreed appointment time.

Follow-up appointments

After your appointment, you will be offered a follow-up appointment to be reviewed again by either your consultant, the specialist nurses, or another member of the allied health professional team.

If you need to change your appointment, get in touch with the contact centre on 01904 726400.
