If you have any queries regarding the provenance of the displayed reference ranges or the uncertainty of measurement, Laboratory Medicine has data for all quantitative assays which can be provided and discussed by calling the relevant department.

Uncertainty of measurement is the doubt that exists about the result of any measurement.  In essence, from a testing perspective, the uncertainty of measurement is needed to determine a pass or fail and the quality of that result.  No measurement or test is perfect and the imperfections (such as variations due to operator or measuring systems) may give rise to error of measurement in the result.
