Clinical IndicationMyelin Associated Glycoprotein (MAG) autoantibodies are frequently associated with peripheral neuropathy. These autoantibodies frequently occur with IgM paraproteinaemia. MAG autoantibodies, contribute directly to the pathogenesis of peripheral neuropathies. Patients with anti-MAG antibody titres may respond favourably to therapeutic intervention. Testing for the presence of these autoantibodies is useful for diagnosis as well as monitoring of therapy.
