Stroke physiotherapy services

What we do

Stroke physiotherapists provide specialist assessment, treatment and management of patients suffering from the symptoms of stroke.

The aim of physiotherapy is to maximise a person’s independence and to promote physical activity. Patients are individually assessed and each patient will have their own programme of treatment to facilitate achieving specific goals. These may be related to walking, balance, using the affected arm and hand.

Where we are

The service is hospital based. Within Scarborough Hospital, the service is delivered on the acute stroke ward. At Bridlington Hospital the service is delivered on Waters Ward.
