Women's Unit

The Women's Unit at Scarborough Hospital provides services to address a variety of gynaecological problems.  A mixture of nurse and consultant-led clinics are held in the department.

Reception A services

  • Early Pregnancy Assessment (EPAU)
  • Post-Menopausal Bleeding Clinic
  • Gynaecology oncology follow up clinics
  • Colposcopy
  • Hysteroscopy
  • Termination of pregnancy

Reception B services

  • Gynaecology outpatient clinics
  • Consultant antenatal clinics

Location

The Women's Unit is located on the third floor of the main hospital building.


Referrals

Your GP or midwife may refer you to the unit. You may also be referred by an emergency nurse practitioner, out of hours GP or A&E.

Women with a history of ectopic pregnancy may self refer to EPAU.

Please bring a list of medications with you.

If attending the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit please do not bring small children as the environment is not suitable.  Only one person should accompany you as space is limited.

Update for visitors

Visiting restrictions are in place at our hospitals to stop the spread of norovirus. These restrictions will be in place until further notice.

We understand these restrictions can be difficult when a loved one is unwell. The restrictions will be reviewed daily and lifted as soon as it is safe. Thank you for your understanding as we try to reduce the spread of norovirus in our hospitals.
