Scarborough Team crowned as top collaborators

Another accolade for the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre at Scarborough, at this year’s Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards.  The team were named regional winners in the Integration & Collaborative Working category, in partnership with principal contractor Integrated Health Projects (IHP).

Held every year in July, the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards recognise the very best companies, collaborations and projects sharing best practice and inspiring others to adopt new and better ways of working that deliver outstanding results.

The team were crowned the winners at a glittering prize-giving ceremony at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, thanks to their collaborative approach to designing and delivering the new healthcare facilities, which has involved full engagement of all project partners - including client representatives, designers, contractors, and supply chain specialists.

Joanne Southwell, Strategic Capital Planning Manager, for the UECC, said: “Integration and collaborative working are key to overcoming challenges, managing risk and delivering better outcomes.  Judges were looking for projects and practices that exemplify this approach with evidence of how all parties have been engaged, from clients to contractors and across the supply chain.  I am really proud to be working alongside IHP as part of a one-team approach to deliver this fantastic project, and I am thrilled that our partnership working has been publicly recognised at these prestigious awards.”

As regional award winners, the team will now go on to represent Yorkshire and Humber at the national Constructing Excellence Awards Final, in London, later in the year.
