Dr. Abbasi joined the team as a Locum Consultant in May and, within a week, stepped up when the department found themselves a consultant down.
He filled critical gaps in ward coverage, clinics, and, most importantly, the lung cancer work.
Without hesitation, he took on the role of cancer lead, chairing MDT meetings, triaging referrals, and managing fast-track clinics. This commitment meant giving up his work-from-home day and enduring a near 200-mile daily commute.
Dr. Abbasi’s kindness, cheerful demeanour, and exceptional patient care have made him a beloved team member and an inspiration to those around him.
