Question about the omnipod

Hello all,
I start pump training in October, and right now the pump I like the best is the Omnipod, because it's wireless.
I have a question for current omnipod users though -- I do Pilates and Yoga, and the other day I realised that these activities necessitate being in positions which might interfere with the Pod. Is this an issue for anyone, or do you find you can still do Yoga/Pilates etc. without your pump getting in the way?
Thanks!

Hi Rachel

I'm on the course in October too so will see you there. I've had similar reservations about tubed vs tubeless pumps so I'm looking forward to having a play with each one at the training. I'm told by a lot of other pump users that the tubes are less daunting once you get over the initial shock so I'm remaining open minded.

I did a bit of research and spoke to a reall helpful lady at Cell Novo who do a pump and pretty snazzy handset. The pump can go tubed or tubeless so may be an option if York are doing the pump by then. Have a quick google and you'll see what I mean "Cell Novo".

Cheers
Craig

Would you not remove your pump whilst doing the exercise/activity?

Hi Craig, I have seen the cell novo pump and really like the look of it. I didn't think it was available in York, but if it is in October, it would definitely be a contender for me!
Re. the response about taking the pump off: I'm not sure you can do that with the omnipod. Taking off the Pod would mean removing your infusion site, wouldn't it?

Hi all,
I've been on Omnipod for nearly two years now and love it, but yes, once it's off it's off until you stick on a new one. Ideally they last three days.
I don't do yoga but I do a lot of exercise and I've never found a position that's caused the pod a problem. However, when I get sweaty it dissolves the adhesive and the pod can fall off. I got a paste called Cavilon from my GP which stops you sweating under the pod and they now fall off less!
Also, if you do Bikram note that the pod itself can fail if it goes over 30 degrees.
Omnipod let me try them out for a month before I committed, which was great.
Hope that helps.
