Hello,Is there any word on when we'll be upgraded to the 640g system (particularly for those who started the medtronic veo in November)?

The ew medtronic pump is due for launch at the beginning of february. All thoses who commenced pump therapy at the end of last year and wish to upgrade will be contacted once the pump is launched. This is the same for the new insight pump from Roche.

I read a recent blog post where the writer was invited to medtronic to see the 640G. They were told that the 640G comes with a minilink transmitter and one enlite sensor. Can anyone here verify this?I'm considering self funding a CGM, but the upfront cost for the transmitter is a bit off-putting. If the 640G actually comes equipped with one, then it would be pretty exciting!

Hi,
Yes you are correct the new pump does come with a transmitter and 1 x sensor which you will get once you are upgraded to the new pump.
Im afraid we still have the issue of not being able to fund the ongoing cost of the sensors but if you are considering self funding you at least would not have the cost of the transmitter to fund yourself.

Great news! Yes, I was thinking of maybe self funding the sensors -- just not full time. I figure a couple of weeks every other month or when things go a bit haywire would help tighten my control and be affordable on my budget.I also saw that NICE is reviewing integrated CGMs, but I imagine it might be awhile before it results in anything tangible.
