This is to inform all pump users on the Spirit pump that when changing the cartridge, the correct step by step cartridge change should be followed as per manufacturers instructions.

There is a potential risk that small amounts of insulin could drip into the cartridge compartment damanging the piston rod over time which may affect the action of the piston and incorrect insulin delivered.

If this happens then an error message E6 or E10 may be displayed on the pump.
