Expressing
Expressing breast milk
Expressing your breast milk can be useful for lots of reasons:
- to tempt your baby to go on the breast
- to help relieve engorgement or release a blocked duct
- it is also essential if you and your baby are separated for a prolonged period of time.
Expressing your milk can be done by hand or using a pump (either manual or electric). For hand expressing, follow this link to watch a short video which explains the technique.
