Oncology and palliative care physiotherapy service

The service provides physiotherapeutic assessment and treatment of a wide range of physical conditions in patients who have a cancer diagnoses, at  any stage of their illness.

It provides support and advice for families, carers and other health care professionals.

As part of a multi disciplinary team it aims to help maintain patients in their preferred place of care at the end of life.

The service is provided primarily on a domiciliary, basis with access to out patient facilities at York acute Trust sites.

Update for visitors

Visiting restrictions are in place at our hospitals to stop the spread of norovirus. These restrictions will be in place until further notice.

We understand these restrictions can be difficult when a loved one is unwell. The restrictions will be reviewed daily and lifted as soon as it is safe. Thank you for your understanding as we try to reduce the spread of norovirus in our hospitals.
