How to apply for tickets:

This year we are changing the process to make things fairer for everyone who would like the chance to purchase tickets. We know that many staff have previously struggled to obtain tickets because they have not been able to get through to make a phone call when tickets go on sale. It has also been extremely busy for theatre box offices to deal with the demand, so with this in mind, subsidised tickets for 2025 will be allocated by the Staff Benefits Team using a random draw.

If you would like to enter the draw you will need access to an @nhs.net email account. If you do not have one you will need to speak with your line manager and the IT team to have your account set up.

Tickets will be limited to a maximum of four per person, if you require additional tickets you will need to purchase them from the venue at full price.

Subsidised Theatre Tickets: Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why have you changed the process?
In previous years subsidised tickets have been sold on a first come, first served basis. Due to their popularity they have sold out very quickly meaning many staff, particularly those who work in clinical areas, have missed out because they’ve not been able to make a phone call or visit the box office in person. Giving everyone to same window to enter our random draw is the fairest way to give everyone the opportunity to enjoy these tickets.

2. Why have you limited the number of tickets per person?
For each venue we only have a limited number of tickets and we want as many staff as possible to enjoy a cheaper Christmas trip to the theatre at a time of year where finances can be tighter than normal. For each of our partner venues you will be able to purchase additional tickets at full price should you need more than the number you requested.

3. Why do I have to use my @nhs.net email address?
As part of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan for the NHS there is a requirement to switch the NHS from analogue to digital. The Trust has published a digital strategy which includes ensuring all staff have access to secure emails through your @nhs.net account. If you do not currently have access to emails at work please speak to your line manager or the IT team to arrange access.

4. Will everyone be notified of the outcome of the random draw?
We expect to receive a very high number of applications for this draw and it will take us time to allocated tickets across all 5 venues. With this in mind we will prioritise contacting winners only. If you haven’t received an email from us by 7th November you can assume you have been unsuccessful in the initial random draw. If any tickets go unclaimed they will be put into a second random draw so you may be contacted by the Staff Benefits Team in the event you are successful at this point.

5. I’ve been allocated tickets but I no longer want to attend. What do I do?
If you have yet to purchase your tickets please notify the Staff Benefits Team as soon as possible so we can put your tickets back into the pot and undertake another random draw. Unfortunately we are not able to issue refunds for tickets that have already been purchased.
